The Community as a Whole

The West Houston community benefits from the West Houston Community Center because there is a place where your family, friends, and neighbors can go to restore purpose and productivity to their lives, learn new skills, develop healthy relationships and experience positive mental, physical, spiritual and emotional growth.  And when people do this, it has a positive impact on everyone else around them.  Its like the ripples caused by a pebble being dropped in a still pond, radiating throughout the community.

Specifically, it improves our standard of living by: reducing the destructive stresses of our lives; creating a "connectedness" to the community; enhancing education; overcoming the cycles of poverty; reducing societal costs of healthcare and criminal justice; improving safety; and in total, just makes the West Houston community a better place to live and work.
